Parai, in means “to speak” or “to tell” and to do this, one of the oldest percussion instruments used from times in memorial is the Parai Drum.The drums are used for multiple purposes as a means of communication, signaling people to gather, announcements and announcing victory. It is also played during festivals, weddings and other celebrations.
